President Attends Tripartite Summit with King Abdullah II of Jordan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi


His Excellency President Barham Salih met with His Majesty King Abdullah II, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and His Excellency Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt today at a Tripartite Summit in New York City. 
President Salih emphasized the importance of strengthening peace, diminishing the specter of war, and improving regional dialogue between friendly regional states to prevent crises. 
All three leaders focused on redoubling efforts for peace in the region, and noted that regional security is a task for all three states. Accordingly, Egypt, Jordan and Iraq will work together to improve security coordination and reduce the threat of terrorism.
The leaders also emphasized the need to further secure and develop opportunities resulting from the hard-won gains against terrorism in the region in recent years. They agreed on the importance of aggressively confronting those who support terrorism, whether politically, financially, or through various media channels. 
The Egyptian and Jordanian leaders reiterated their full and unconditional support for Iraqi efforts focused on reconstruction and the repatriation of internally displaced people to areas liberated from ISIS terrorists.  
Reviewing regional developments, all three leaders collectively emphasized the importance of  comprehensive political solutions to crises in the region, and noted Syria, Libya, and Yemen in their discussion. The leaders expressed a firm desire for rapid resolutions to the respective crises, in accordance with all applicable UN Security Council resolutions and in a manner that preserves the unity, independence, and territorial integrity of these countries. 
The meeting concluded with complete agreement regarding the importance of preserving collective Arab national security by countering all external interventions aimed at destabilizing the Arab world.
