President Salih, Iran's Rouhani Confirm Deepening Iraqi-Iranian Ties

In a phone call with President Salih, that was initiated today by Iranian President, Rouhani congratulated the President on forming the new government and arriving of Eid al-Fitr in advance.
 President Rouhani asked Almighty to grant Iraqi people graces and blessings.
His Excellency the President, in turn, thanked his Iranian counterpart for this noble initiative, which reflects the depth of relations between the two friendly countries, wishing the Iranian people would achieve all aspirations for progress and prosperity.
Rouhani invited President Salih to visit Iran. He pledged to take up the invitation in a timely manner.
The two leaders discussed the ways of strengthening Baghdad- Tehran relations and developing their mutual cooperation to serve the interest of the two neighboring peoples.
They agreed and emphasized that enhancing Iraq's sovereignty and security is of particular importance in regional and international levels. This would promote peace, stability for all the peoples and states of the region.
Moreover, they underlined the importance of coordinating and cooperating to address the coronavirus outbreak as well as working together to limit the spread of COVID-19 in order to guarantee the health and safety of Iraqis, Iranians and all humanity as whole.
The two Presidents reviewed the most important political developments, and emphasized that tensions need to be mitigated to bring about peace, security and stability in the region.
