President Rashid Meets Kurdish Tribal Delegation from Kirkuk


The President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdullatif Jamal Rashid met a Kurdish tribal delegation from Kirkuk at the Baghdad Palace.

His Excellency President Rashid emphasised that Kirkuk has special significance for the Iraqi people, and it has suffered from oppression, injustice, and deprivation under the former dictatorship. The provision of public services in Kirkuk must be improved while infrastructure needs to be rehabilitated to meet the local population's demands, HE added.

Talks focused on the need for the commencement of vital projects and expanding and improving the physical facilities in the city.

The members of the visiting delegation briefed the President about issues of the local people of Kirkuk.
