The President of the Republic Receives the Secretary- General of the Socialist International Organization Mr. Luis Ayala

H.E. Dr. Fuad Masum the President of the Republic received Mr. Luis Ayala the Secretary-General of the Socialist International Organization, in Baghdad, this afternoon, Sunday, October 8, 2017. Mr. Ayala came to offer condolences on the death of the great late former President Mam Jalal Talabani.
At the onset of the meeting, the President welcomed Mr. Luis Ayala. He asserted that the departure of President Mam Jalal was a great loss to all spectrums of the Iraqi people, remembering the deeds of the late and his wisdom in tackling lingering issues.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the Socialist International Organization expressed his condolences to the President of the Republic, saying that Mam Jalal was a true nationalist man who had consistently defended the unity of the Iraqi ranks to achieve their aspirations for freedom, democracy and dignified life, commending Mam Jalal's outstanding role in the meetings and activities of the Socialist International when he was the Vice President of the organization.
Mr. Ayala also valued President Masum's efforts on the path of Iraqi reunification, and the adoption of the principle of constructive dialogue among political parties. He pointed out the importance of consensus of all parties at the current stage in a way that serves the security and stability of Iraq and, achieves freedom, justice and equality among all.
